In addition to installing a new HVAC system in February 2021, our facility was upgraded with robust air purification and surface sanitization equipment that includes:
- Triad Aer Purifier V3
- UV-C light and air purifiers inside the HVAC system to prevent the spread of germs via heating and cooling
- Reme-Halo in-duct air purifiers with Advanced Oxidation Plasma and Ionized Hydro-peroxide
- Two UV-C light robot carts for high-touch surface sanitization in our center and buses
This advanced equipment helps eliminate up to 99.99% of viruses, as well as bacteria, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), pollutants, mold, smoke, odors, and more. As a result, we’re able to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and other airborne viruses and bacteria and improve indoor air quality (IAQ) for easier breathing, reduced allergy symptoms, and more.
We’ve also implemented fever-detection technology to prevent facility access by individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Our advanced temperature check kiosks utilize screening questionnaires and facial scanning capabilities and provide automated alerts when abnormal temperatures are detected. As a result, we’re able to identify visitors who may be affected by COVID-19 while offering services safely for our valued clients.
CDC Protocols for Center-Based and In-Home Care
In addition to these advanced infection control methods, Belleville Senior Services also adheres to all CDC guidelines to help prevent COVID-19 transmission when serving seniors at our center and in their homes. These protocols include:
- Social distance of 6’ maintained whenever possible
- Masks worn by care providers and clients
- The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, including gloves, eye protection, and more
- Frequent handwashing with soap and water or use of hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available
- Gloves worn in all instances of direct contact
- Regular disinfection of high-touch surfaces with appropriate virus-killing products
We also take every precaution possible to ensure the health of our team. Care providers undergo temperature screenings at the start of every shift and are urged to stay home if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. When a care provider is unable to attend work at our center or in the home of a client, we take every step possible to avoid interruptions to care and ensure needs are met in their absence.
